2014 African International Conference/Workshop, “Applications of Nanotechnology to Energy, Environment and Health, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, (UNN)
From the 23rd to the 29th of March 2014, at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, (UNN) an African International Conference/Workshop was held on the “Applications of Nanotechnology to Energy, Environment and Health.
Special speakers included the Managing Director of Oilserve Limited, Emeka Okwuosa; President, NIMS, Japan, Prof. S. Ushioda, and other key players in global technology.
Sponsored by key stakeholders in the Nigerian technology sector like Oilserve Nigeria Limited and Frazimex Nigeria Limited, the conference was organized by the Nano Research Group at UNN, in collaboration with Energy Materials, Materials Science and Manufacturing, CSIR Pretoria, South Africa.
According to the organizers, “the conference/workshop discussed promising research and development of technology that can help the rural poor and re-train the scientists and University teachers, and re-focus them to meet the challenges in African human capital development.”
Nanotechnology is the science of building machines at a subatomic level; that is from the smallest level.
