Dr. Luther S. Williams, Ph.D.
Provost and V.P., SEM Education, Medicine

Dr. Williams is Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Tuskegee University. He has provided tremendous influence on directions of science education in the U.S. by serving in the NSF as Asst. Dir. of Education and human Resources, as well as other powerful positions and serving in many prestigious scientific organizations. Dr. Williams was Deputy Director of the National Institute of General Medical Sciences for the National Institutes of Health. He has held a wide range of academic-administrative positions, serving as Associate Professor of Biology at MIT; Professor of Biology and Assistant Provost at Purdue University, IN; Professor of Biology and the Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Washington University, MO; Professor of Biology and Vice President of Academic Affairs at the University of Colorado, CO; and Professor of Biology and President of Atlanta University, GA. He also has many varied scientific publications on topics relating to some of his research interests about the Control of Gene Expression, Microbial Physiology, and Molecular Biology.
