Neurologist, former Secretary General of Ministry for Scientific Research

Dr. Alain Tehindrazanarivelo, neurologist, was the former Secretary General of the Ministry for Scientific Research of Madagascar. He has been Médecin attaché associé in Paris from 1988 to 1994 (University hospital Pitié-Salpêtrière & Saint Antoine, Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris), then went on in Madagascar, his native country, to become a professor of neurology and associate dean at Medical school of University of Antananarivo (1995-2002), the head of Department of Neurology & psychiatry at Befelatanana hospital, University of Antananarivo (1997-2002). Alain is the Founder and Associate Director of the Madagascar Neurosciences and Mental Health Center (1995-2002). He is also the Founder and Editor in Chief of the Journal de Médecine et de Thérapeutique of Madagascar, and has been Reviewer and Editorial Board member for Stroke journal (American Heart Association, 1995-2005), and African Journal of Neurological Sciences,( 2000-2005), and is a member of National Academy of Arts, Literature and Sciences of Madagascar since 1996. Alain is author and co-author of more than 150 scientific papers and book chapters published in Malagasy, French, English medical and scientific journals or books. He is presently consultant neurologist at Lariboisiere Hospital (Paris) and senior neurologist at Louis Pasteur Hospital (Chartres) in France.
